GRAVEYARD
[On the instant of your death, you're suddenly outside of your body - probably staring down at the remains it's become.
Yet, you're not alone. For all of you (except Szayel), a young man appears from behind you, his face set into a firm, yet sad, scowl. His shaggy strawberry blonde hair is pretty eye-catching, along with the black and white Shihakusho he wears and the large sword on his back, even as he gently tries to lead you back into the lobby and away from what was once your body. You can still clearly hear and see the living, if you want to try - but they can't see or hear you.
'Welcome to the world of the dead in this Resort,' he says, quietly. 'Looks like you're stuck here with the rest of us.'
He hands you a tablet, just like the one you had before. "You'll need this if you want to keep talking to them,' he explains, looking sad.
It looks like you've passed on, and yet...You still feel like you have a role to play in all of this.]

Ripley's explaining it so plainly! It's not so simple as a baboon heart in her chest, that makes it sound like it has no purpose!
[Which. He's also done more than his fair share of pointless surgeries for the sake of curiousity, but this is different!]

[It's baffling, Medic. Very baffling]

[Given the kind of missions they were going through...]

The baboon hearts are just the only ones strong enough to withstand the Ubervalve implant.

[It'd depend on if Iwai and the Medic got assigned together often, though. So far Iwai has no reason to believe that ever happened]

I would try listening to your heart to check, but I'm pretty sure we don't have heartbeats as ghosts. Unfortunate.

[Like Medic and Snake and Akira and Makoto...and also Iwai, to some extent. He has been plenty useful for the Foundation's fatality rates]

["Weirdo" is one of the nicer things Medic has been called in his lifetime.]
All of this just drives home the fact that I need to figure out how to fix my Medigun. The sooner I can get it back to full power, the better.
[fat chance of that happening but let him dream]

[Also the Medigun looks like a complete disaster of haphazardly-attached parts at the best of times.]

[The interactions between the pieces and how they fit with each other in a gun, in other words. That's a very important part when it's about modified weapons: something placed incorrectly can wreck everything]
