Yet, you're not alone. For all of you (except Szayel), a young man appears from behind you, his face set into a firm, yet sad, scowl. His shaggy strawberry blonde hair is pretty eye-catching, along with the black and white Shihakusho he wears and the large sword on his back, even as he gently tries to lead you back into the lobby and away from what was once your body. You can still clearly hear and see the living, if you want to try - but they can't see or hear you.

'Welcome to the world of the dead in this Resort,' he says, quietly. 'Looks like you're stuck here with the rest of us.'

He hands you a tablet, just like the one you had before. "You'll need this if you want to keep talking to them,' he explains, looking sad.

It looks like you've passed on, and yet...You still feel like you have a role to play in all of this.]

The letter says that the important thing is who survives, right?

So... does the resort count as a "who?"

... I'm still working on that. But the other monsters do not seem to be as.... violent as the Barghest. The Doppelganger and Cinque seem to be more like partners, and Rean and the Jorogumo are a predator eking out a living, from what I can tell. The Staff also gave Rean a goal -- to hunt down the Outsider.

We have seen that the Outsider can hijack the Resort, to an extent. I think this whole mafia game is his idea -- by turning the Guests against one another, we are distracted. And vulnerable.

But the Outsider is Ichigo's superior, right?

[Hrmmmmm.]

Isn't it kind of bad for him if everything dies, too? [Like. Most people have a higher level of self-preservation than Yoshi, that's for sure.]

[perfeccion]

Indeed. But remember what Kurosaki said about him -- he's stubborn. He may not realize what he's doing.

Or may not care. We are all fictional D-class after all. For the Foundation, we are expendable assets. He's apparently also more of a military person than a researcher. His goal very well may be to destroy this Resort, at whatever cost. [he scoffs] There are certainly plenty who think like that among the ranks of the Foundation.

So we need to figure out a way to stop him...

I don't think the resort itself is bad, either. I mean, I was talking to one of the other guests and he said it's famous across different universes for its service? Seems weird to destroy something like that.

[perfeccion]

[he sighs]

My memories of the Foundation are still quite blurry, but I do distinctly recall a constant frustration with their unwillingness to try and understand. Secure, Contain, Protect -- all good, yes. But there are certain things you shouldn't just lock away in a box.

[justonezero]

All my memories are just about training to contain...

[He's. He's got concerns about what he's been doing for them now.]

So in this case, we just need to "secure" and "protect" it?

[perfeccion]

Yes. So far, the Resort has not proven to be... well, dangerous, not with the cruelty and maliciousness of something like the Barghest. It's clearly a living, thinking being. What if it's one of the last of its kind? What if it's the only of its kind? That's worth protecting. Worth understanding.

Of course, I may end up eating my words later on... but, ah, such is the risk of a hypothesis.

And anyway, it's not just out of ten; lord Aizen had hundreds of Arrancar in his army! ... Just, ten Espada, is all. to even be counted among the Espada is the highest honor...!
