GRAVEYARD
[On the instant of your death, you're suddenly outside of your body - probably staring down at the remains it's become.
Yet, you're not alone. For all of you (except Szayel), a young man appears from behind you, his face set into a firm, yet sad, scowl. His shaggy strawberry blonde hair is pretty eye-catching, along with the black and white Shihakusho he wears and the large sword on his back, even as he gently tries to lead you back into the lobby and away from what was once your body. You can still clearly hear and see the living, if you want to try - but they can't see or hear you.
'Welcome to the world of the dead in this Resort,' he says, quietly. 'Looks like you're stuck here with the rest of us.'
He hands you a tablet, just like the one you had before. "You'll need this if you want to keep talking to them,' he explains, looking sad.
It looks like you've passed on, and yet...You still feel like you have a role to play in all of this.]

Some things just can't be seen over text alone.]
...I thought you were being careful.
[There's no anger or reproach. Just...
Why?]
no subject
[HE REALLY WAS...]
I didn't think I'd be targeted after everything that happened that last trial.
no subject
He really wanted Minato to be one of the survivors.
This time, Minato will be able to see him as he approaches for a hug.]
no subject
There, there, Yoshi...]
It's going to be okay.
I believe in all of them.
no subject
But it still hurts. And he can't get that panging in his heart to stop.]
...We're going to have so much to tell Rean.
[That's... something else to focus on, a little bit.]
no subject
[A rueful smile at that.]
I... hope he's okay. It was definitely a lot.
[GETTING BLOWN UP...FOR POOR REAN...]
no subject
[SO
MILDLY BETTER MAYBE??]
no subject
... I shouldn't feel relieved by that, but I kind of do.
no subject
He probably hasn't been since the first couple days.
no subject
... Poor Schwarzer-san...
[Minato just rubs his forehead tiredly, shaking his head.]
What a mess.
no subject
[He smiles, but...
It's not a very happy one, shockingly enough.]
no subject
But also...]
That's...too sad.
To be condemned to something like that from the beginning...
no subject
[He's had a few ideas of how to approach it, though they were left unsaid. It wasn't really his choice anymore.
But now none of that matters.
He breaks off the hug, still pensive.]
Should I... try to talk to Akira tomorrow?
[Or something...
It's weird. The living have all the facts now, so he can say whatever he wants. But now it's just left him at a loss as to what should even be said in the first place.]
no subject
He's... [...Going to be in a lot of pain.]
I need to talk to him too, as soon as I can.
[...]
I'm just afraid he'll try to do something reckless.
no subject
[Funny how you can be so used to text, to being confined to whoever you can reach over the 'net, and yet... end up missing old fashioned speech so much once it's gone.]
no subject
I can't... I can't leave him alone.
[A shaky breath in.]
He's too important to me.
no subject
...Is there anything you want to know? I don't think I have anything else useful that you didn't already figure out, but...
[He's not really sure what to do with himself.]
no subject
Minato reaches out to ruffle his hair.]
You're fine. Thanks for just being right here--it helps.
no subject
...If you're sure.
[It's still odd to him that others appreciate him being around, but - bit by bit, it's becoming more familiar, too.]
Oh-- you can actually go through doors now, too. It'll be even easier to visit.
[Akira goes unsaid at the end of that.]
no subject
... Yeah. I'll.... have to bother Akira a lot.
[As much as he can... as much as it takes to make sure he's okay.]
no subject
[That's. Just a thing. He's still wearing the same outfit as always though, the uniform and the original hoodie over it.]
If you put on glitter inside his room and walk out, it'll all get stuck to the door or the carpet instead. [Instant clean!]
no subject
[...]
It's going to be a lot to get used to, I guess.
no subject
That's why the fuzzy guest said it was like being on a different level of existence, I think. And why we can die a second time, too.
[He raises a hand to his face, lightly touching his cheek near his eye.]
That's why I can't use my power like this, either. It still puts a strain on my ghost brain? So that'll transfer even if I get a gigai. That's how Szayel explained it, anyway.
no subject
[Hrm...]
It sounds complicated, honestly. I'm not really a stranger to kind of existing after death, but this is a new level.
no subject
[He's. He's been here long enough at this point.]
