GRAVEYARD
[On the instant of your death, you're suddenly outside of your body - probably staring down at the remains it's become.
Yet, you're not alone. For all of you (except Szayel), a young man appears from behind you, his face set into a firm, yet sad, scowl. His shaggy strawberry blonde hair is pretty eye-catching, along with the black and white Shihakusho he wears and the large sword on his back, even as he gently tries to lead you back into the lobby and away from what was once your body. You can still clearly hear and see the living, if you want to try - but they can't see or hear you.
'Welcome to the world of the dead in this Resort,' he says, quietly. 'Looks like you're stuck here with the rest of us.'
He hands you a tablet, just like the one you had before. "You'll need this if you want to keep talking to them,' he explains, looking sad.
It looks like you've passed on, and yet...You still feel like you have a role to play in all of this.]

[ if only he could have told anyone else that... but there's something else that catches flat's attention ]
So you've died before being electrocuted? That must've been awful!
no subject
Ja, of course! [Medic has explained this so many times over the last few weeks, but at least he's figured out how to explain it pretty simply, now.] I've worked as a mercenary for many years. We had technology that allowed us to come back to life after death- therefore, we all died millions upon millions of times over the years. Death means very little to me, now.

[ he shrugs. either way, the medic says something that's really cool, and flat's eyes widen in amazement. ] Wow. What a great invention! Although it takes away the singularity of a life, it makes it much easier for humans to achieve their true purpose. That's incredibly efficient!
no subject
[Medic looks smug.] Thank you. While the device wasn't entirely my design, I put quite a lot of work into it's upkeep, and on improving it over the years. Eventually figured out how to enhance it to respawn people in battle, as well.
Of course, there's no way to permanently stop true death. But you can fight like hell to procrastinate on dying for real!
no subject
he'd rather focus on this re-spawning invention! ]
Ah, is that why you have so much different energy? I mean...I wouldn't say that it's like a homunculus but your body isn't just your own, is it?
no subject
Ah, but. Yes. I suppose that's one way of putting it, hah! Respawning has nothing to do with whatever my energy is, though.
[Medic weighs the pros and cons of elaborating. On the one hand, he's already dead- who cares what people think of him now? And his weird soul heads are gonna pop out at some point, AND Flat can already tell something's up. On the other hand, explaining this to Ichigo led to him basically saying "I would fucking kill you if I didn't have better control of myself", soooo]

[ or maybe he's watched too many movies? but maybe reviving would corrode one's mind or sanity although that's not the point here-- ]
No, no! It's kinda like you have different energies that don't exactly belong to you? Kinda like when you borrow something but don't give it back or like a mosaic made up of different glass? Something like that!
[ nope, he's totally invested in this now, medic, so he might as well make a convincing lie or tell the truth, because there is no other way out of this. ]

[Welllll, if he insists...]
That's also a fairly apt description of what happened. Basically-
[And then a human head manifests from his left side. He grimaces, glaring up at Medic.]
(Bloody wanker tore our souls right outta us, didn't he?)
Shhh! Let me explain-
[And another face from his midsection, this one with a balaclava somehow?]
(Right to the point, bushman. One of your rare good qualities.)
[And a third god damned head, from the right arm-]
(Will ya'll let the Doc talk 'fore you go back to catfighting?)
[This is. Probably really disturbing to look at. Not to mention confusing.]

to a normal person, that is. flat, however, is anything but that, and when he sees all of the heads manifest, his eyes are practically sparkling with amazement. ]
That's incredible! You have multiple souls grafted in you!? You're like a hydra-- do they bite?
no subject
Yes- I attached them myself. They're the souls of my teammates back home-
[The Spy head grimaces at Flat's words, interrupting Medic mid-sentence.]
(I will not bite. The bushman, however, I wouldn't trust. I've always suspected him to be half-feral.)
(Ah, piss off, ya snake.)
