[On the instant of your death, you're suddenly outside of your body - probably staring down at the remains it's become.

Yet, you're not alone. For all of you (except Szayel), a young man appears from behind you, his face set into a firm, yet sad, scowl. His shaggy strawberry blonde hair is pretty eye-catching, along with the black and white Shihakusho he wears and the large sword on his back, even as he gently tries to lead you back into the lobby and away from what was once your body. You can still clearly hear and see the living, if you want to try - but they can't see or hear you.

'Welcome to the world of the dead in this Resort,' he says, quietly. 'Looks like you're stuck here with the rest of us.'

He hands you a tablet, just like the one you had before. "You'll need this if you want to keep talking to them,' he explains, looking sad.

It looks like you've passed on, and yet...You still feel like you have a role to play in all of this.]

[he rolls his eyes, but then takes a seat. Children.]

Why don't you start with your role -- how much of a disadvantage is the town at having lost you?

[dereban]

I was the Inquisitor. It's the "spy" role, basically. [ She answers him rather matter-of-factly, with not a single breath of emotion in her expression or her voice. ] But the roles don't really matter, do they? That message from 34 -- it said what matters isn't who wins. An advantage or disadvantage doesn't matter. What matters who lives, isn't it?

[perfeccion]

[he fixes his glasses] Let's try and stay on topic. As for the message from this mysterious "34", I'm taking what they say with a grain of salt. The game itself may not matter, but it may help us determine who is important. Now. [he was listening in earlier;] Rean killed you, did he not? Did he do so in a manner similar to my own death?

[dereban]

Mm.

[ She won't comment any further on that front, just going back to the original comment. ]

That's right. [ In terms of who killed her. ] He wrapped my body in thread and then poisoned me.

[perfeccion]

[he laughs a bit, though not at her]

Was he just as completely awful at it as he was with me? I more or less walked into his trap.

[dereban]

[ OH, ARE WE DUNKING ON REAN NOW because now that's something she can at least talk about without being or feeling upset ] Oh, he was bad. Like, what kind of Jorogumo allows a nice long chat or even allows for a "final request"?

[perfeccion]

[we are absolutely dunking on Rean.

Szayel's chuckle turns into a full on laugh]

He is! He's awful at it! The only way he can get prey is if they walk up to him. I don't know if it's Rean himself, or if, like the Barghest, that's actually the Jorogumo piloting him like a meatsuit. If it is... I can't imagine how that creature has managed to survive. Never have I seen such a piss poor excuse for a predator. [he grins cruelly] I'm amazed it wants to eat ever again after what I did to it.

[dereban]

No fucking kidding. [ Inaba's new favorite hobby after death: continuing to dunk on Rean. ] It could be both. [ She shrugs her shoulders, indifferent. ] But what exactly did you do?

[perfeccion]

Maybe now it will starve to death. [he shrugs] No more prey to just walk up to him. ... But, I suspect the jorogumo does not have the same sway over Rean as did the Barghest over Flat -- after all, I had to... ahem. Inform Rean that his attempt to cover himself with the towel was for naught, since a spiders' sexual organs are on its face. [ufufufufufu] My body is highly toxic. Anything that tries to eat me usually ends up dead from massive internal organ failure.

[dereban]

Maybe.

[ Since she did walk up to him on purpose, but like she told Yoshi, she had her reasons for it. ]

But I suppose that makes sense if he was being. . . like that. Although I think I get why he was wearing the towel, even if. You know.

[perfeccion]

Even if it wasn't technically covering anything? Please tell me he had the towel again. Please.

[dereban]

He sure fucking was wearing the towel again.

[perfeccion]

[full on cackling this time] I can't believe it!! No... wait... I can! [he covers his face, giggling madly] What a ridiculous child...

[dereban]

[ OH MY GOD ] He really is. I got a bunch of fun reactions out of him because of it.

[perfeccion]

[Szayel has set aside his notebook and is now just in full gossip mode]

Oh? My goodness, please, share.

[dereban]

He got extremely exasperated each and every time I roasted him... it? Whatever. In a "why are you like this" sort of way. He didn't even believe me when I said he was actually nice.

[perfeccion]

Hahah... ah, well... he is just a boy, after all. Did he say why he targeted you, specifically?

[dereban]

I did ask. [ They had a nice, long, fun little chat, in fact. ] He said that someone like me, who could bring others together is dangerous. But he also looked unsurprised when I said I had a role, too, so he might have heard it from someone that I talked to.

[perfeccion]

I asked as well, but he didn't give me a response. I think I embarrassed him too much with my knowledge of arachnid anatomy.

[dereban]

He does seem like the type to get flustered...

[perfeccion]

I'm surprised he didn't try to cover his face after I educated him. [he shrugs] But that's enough about the game. I think what we need to focus on now is the Outsider. If '34' is to be believed, he may be the biggest threat to us all. And considering what Kurosaki has told us about him...

[dereban]

[ just golfclaps ] Yeah, I think he's definitely an extreme threat to all of us, so we need to find out as much information about him, or about this place in general.

[perfeccion]

Honestly, this is what happens when you send a soldier or a military man to do a researcher's job. When you're a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

[dereban]

Honestly, I'll take researching over any military bullshit any day.

[perfeccion]

Hmph. Not sure why they sent someone like that in the first place if they were planning on sending me all along. Irritating.
