Round 4 graveyard

[When your character dies, however that may be, they will feel themselves floating. For a moment or two they will linger at the site of their death, hovering just above everyone, watching.

Then they will feel a pull and they will get tugged all the way to the studio, through a wall, through the hall, through a door.

The place they end up in looks to be a backstage area. There is an area for storing supplies, a coat rack full of empty prinny costumes, a lounge area, and a place to rest. All of these areas are marked by a green border between the described rooms and the doors that go elsewhere. You will see prinnies come and go, hurrying around as they do their work for the day. But within those borders, some of the prinnies will take off their suits, revealing the human souls within. Men, women, old, young, there is a large mix. They are all very dead, though, and seem used to being dead.

And among all of the dead is one living girl, one who seems to be running the show behind the set. She can be found giving instructions to prinnies and telling them where to put things, but she will always take time to give everyone who arrives the same warning:]

Hi there! I'm Marona, and this is the backstage area. There's a lot to do yet, so if you could help us out I would really appreciate it.

All the areas with the green on the floor are safe to be in as ghosts. Your souls won't get pulled away as long as you stay in the safe areas. If you want to go outside of there, though, you have to put on a prinny suit. And if you do that, you have to follow the rules of the prinnies: no killing anyone, follow the orders you're given by the living, and try not to blow up too much.

If you have any questions, I'll be here! But you can come and go as you like. Just don't give Mr. Dazai too much trouble, okay?

[Interestingly, he actually takes the food and eats it this time.]

What're you guys even up to? It's a lost cause at this point, ain't it?

Nothing's a lost cause as long as you're living, dood. Or existing, in the case of us prinnies.

['Cause, you know. 'souls of the dead' and all.]

That's why you should eat up and keep your spirits up, dood!

[Gabe snorts at that, but he keeps eating.]

Unless you can get me my guns from the armory, I think I'll keep being pessimistic over here.

Prinnies live to serve, but that's a pretty tall order, dood.

[That said... if they had to... well, it's something to consider anyway.]

You think it'll come to that?

I'm one to be prepared.

[scarsnstripes]

[Atsushi glances around, trying to see who is paying attention. Are there guards looking...?]

Prepared?

[foundationmods]

Yeah, just like-

[He pauses, and he looks more closely at prinnysushi.]

...ah. You're a softer version of him.

Let's just say that I'm used to things going bad. It's better to be ready and not need it than to be caught unprepared.

How did you....? [Ah.

So he knew—]

I haven’t met him yet, but... I’ve heard a lot. Both from people who know him and from others. He’s kind of infamous, unfortunately for us both in some ways.

[He glances around again, but since the coast seems clear—]

.... Is there anything I could do to help you prepare?

He's infamous, but he's not a bad kid. It's just so damn easy to get him to do just about anything, he's like a lost puppy looking for a master to tell him what to do. Unfortunately, most of the leaders he's come across aren't that great of people.

[Gabe included.]

But I'm sure you don't wanna hear about him any longer. What would really help right now is my guns, but I don't want you guys to blow your cover. So if my guns are out of the question, then shutting off the power-blocker in my cell would help a lot. I can get outta here as long as I can use my powers. Though uh, I'll wait for you guys to say to move, since I'm sure breaking out now would wreck your plans. Just shut off the power-blocker when it's time to bust outta this place, and I'll help you guys with whatever plan you have. I'm sure the others will too.

[Atsushi's silent for a moment at that. It's... not hard to imagine, is the horrible thing. Not hard to imagine at all. But it also... made him scared, about what more the foundation could do to him.

They'd already proven they could break him down, if they gave it enough time.

But he can't think about that potential future now. He had to focus on the present.]

I can talk to the others and we can try to do that when it's needed. Do you know where it's located?

[A pause, then--]

...And I don't know about guns, but... would any guns do?

There should be an armory in the building. My guns should be in there.

And yeah, any gun would work. I just like mine best.

[scarsnstripes]

I'll check it out, then. Prinnies get let into interesting places.

[And with access to an armory, they could potentially arm everyone.... Hm.]

If it's too heavily guarded, we can definitely get you other guns. Contestants keep getting them no matter how many we destroy. But I think we're hoping we won't have to resort to violence.

Che! You softies. A little violence can go a long way, you know.

[Maybe Gabe isn't the one to trust with a gun...]

But whatever. If you can't get me a gun, that's fine. Just get the power-nullifier shut off and I'll use my powers to help you.

[scarsnstripes]

We're trying to prove we're not violent dangers to society here, you know... None of us want to get exterminated by the Foundation.

[So... yeah. Sorry Gabe.]

Er, I'm not really familiar with your powers... what can you do to help?

I can do a few things, but the main one is I can turn into smoke. It makes it easy to get through bars and cracks in doors and such.

[scarsnstripes]

Oh... that could be really useful. Really useful...

[Being able to go wherever he likes? That's a super useful skill to have, and even Atsushi understood that. Huh...]

We could definitely do that for you if you tell us how to turn it off and where the box is. But you have to promise me something if we do. Don't give the foundation more of a reason to want to execute us, okay?

[No guns blazing, Gabe.]

[He even makes quotation marks with his fingers.]

The box should be in the control room for the cells. It's probably labeled.

[Prinnies can't smile much, but if they could...! Gabe would be getting a big one.]

Got it. Are there guards?

[If not, this should be simple.]

Probably. They definitely wanna keep the weapons on lockdown.
