GRAVEYARD
[On the instant of your death, you're suddenly outside of your body - probably staring down at the remains it's become.
Yet, you're not alone. For all of you (except Szayel), a young man appears from behind you, his face set into a firm, yet sad, scowl. His shaggy strawberry blonde hair is pretty eye-catching, along with the black and white Shihakusho he wears and the large sword on his back, even as he gently tries to lead you back into the lobby and away from what was once your body. You can still clearly hear and see the living, if you want to try - but they can't see or hear you.
'Welcome to the world of the dead in this Resort,' he says, quietly. 'Looks like you're stuck here with the rest of us.'
He hands you a tablet, just like the one you had before. "You'll need this if you want to keep talking to them,' he explains, looking sad.
It looks like you've passed on, and yet...You still feel like you have a role to play in all of this.]

I WAS POSSESSED BY A WOLF GHOST AMA
it's not a phrase that flat uses very often, hearing it instead from the likes of his professor's foul mouth. but after what seemed like five minutes of torture after two weeks of hell, he thinks that's the only thing that he can describe the current situation.
he hears cinque crying, but he can't really process it. it's like he's watching a movie that he's no longer a part of. with a tilt of his head, he looks at her and his own body, which bobs lifelessly in the tub. ]
Aw...that's a shame.
[ he doesn't seem to have much of a reaction, other than that. he'll just continue to stare at the scene, just like one of his movies. ]

[Medic seems completely unphased by the execution, of course. He's chilling over by Phil and Snake, and waves at Flat when he appears. He gives Phil's shoulder a final squeeze before walking up to meet Flat.]
Unfortunate that she chose such an extended method of execution, ja? At least they've narrowed down methods for the future.
no subject
[ flat's neutral expression is immediately replaced with a smile when he sees the familiar face. by now, cinque has already gone off with roxas but that's fine...perhaps. ]
Well, I didn't think it would hurt so much. Having my lungs fill with water was definitely not pleasant! But next time they should try electrocuting it-- that would've been better.
no subject
I doubt that any normal methods, like hanging or stabbing, will do much to destroy that wolf; you're right that electrocution is a viable option- or perhaps the Iron Maiden...
Ah, well. Hopefully they catch the monster again as quickly as with you. Of course, that all depends on when it chooses to strike again.
no subject
[ if only he could have told anyone else that... but there's something else that catches flat's attention ]
So you've died before being electrocuted? That must've been awful!
no subject
Ja, of course! [Medic has explained this so many times over the last few weeks, but at least he's figured out how to explain it pretty simply, now.] I've worked as a mercenary for many years. We had technology that allowed us to come back to life after death- therefore, we all died millions upon millions of times over the years. Death means very little to me, now.
no subject
[ he shrugs. either way, the medic says something that's really cool, and flat's eyes widen in amazement. ] Wow. What a great invention! Although it takes away the singularity of a life, it makes it much easier for humans to achieve their true purpose. That's incredibly efficient!
no subject
[Medic looks smug.] Thank you. While the device wasn't entirely my design, I put quite a lot of work into it's upkeep, and on improving it over the years. Eventually figured out how to enhance it to respawn people in battle, as well.
Of course, there's no way to permanently stop true death. But you can fight like hell to procrastinate on dying for real!

flat turns to see yoshi and he pales a little in horror. while he was never in control of his body, he was 'aware' enough to know what the barghest had done to yoshi with his body. ]
I- I'm really sorry!
[ he bows deeply in an apology (because that's what they do in the animes he's seen!) not once, but many times, in quick succession. he's really sorry, okay? ]
I didn't think I'd get possessed by a bloodthirsty crazy wolf spirit thing!!
no subject
It's fine! It wasn't really you, anyway.
[Besides, the wolf even said Flat didn't want to kill him. ALL WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE.]
no subject
[ after all, those two weeks had been like a personal hell. not the fact that he wasn't in control of his body, but the fact that yoshi might have considered their whole friendship a sham-- that he was a monster--
he'll keep that away for now. instead-- ]
Well, if you think it's okay, then it's okay! Although...maybe I should reintroduce myself. I'm Flat Escardos-- the real one!
no subject
[It just wouldn't be right!
And then, the spiel:]
I'm Yoshi Nanase! Everybody calls me Trash, Pest, Maggot, Spineless, Dust, Plankton, Moron and all sorts of other things, so call me whatever name you like!

[he possessed people a lot back home. They generally do Not Appreciate it]
When you are feeling up to it, I would like to interview you about... well, whatever you may have learned while sharing your bodily real-estate with the Bargest.
no subject
[ he's a little put off by the suddenness of.......szayel but! he'll pay no mind to that! ]
Well, like I told the Medic, it's kind of a two-way street? Except the Barghest was much more powerful and could pretty much shut me up whenever it wanted. Ah, but it doesn't like the water! It can't go in the water and also--!! It dies through electrocution. It's really weird, but I guess that since spirits are energy, no other thing would be able to really touch it.
no subject
So... the reason it was able to mimic you so effectively is... because it had access to your memories and thoughts? And you were more or less a prisoner in your own body?
no subject
Mm, yeah, it had access to all my memories and...sort of vice versa? Like a little bit. Like I think I know that Appy was this redhead? And that the Barghest tried to... you know.
[ he's not saying it nope no way no how ]
no subject
Ah. Yes. Before it took a host, when it attempted to... ahem... use Kurosaki as an incubator. [he chuckles and flips his hair] I don't think it expected his spiritual power to be so immense.
no subject
[ S I G H ]
Oh, but what about suggestions! Like "keep an eye on x person" or something? Maybe we can say that?
no subject
[he is still so confused about how the rules of this game work. HE DIDN'T THINK IT WOULD BE SO COMPLICATED]
[another long-suffering sigh, and he shrugs] All you can do is try, dear Mr. Escardos.

Hi, Flat.
[Or well -]
Nice to finally meet you after all this time.
And...I'm sorry that happened to you.
no subject
[ HE'LL JUST TAKE THE TABLET AND TRY NOT TO THINK ABOUT THE FORBIDDEN KNOWLEDGE. unlike ichigo, he doesn't look sad-- definitely not happy either, but he looks very neutral for someone that just drowned. ]
It's alright, though. I mean, I'm just glad to have control of my body again, even if I am pretty dead. [ he'll just....point to the tub that is being taken away. it's no big deal ]
no subject
[HE....DOESN'T REALLY SEEM BOTHERED, ngl. At least, not by that. it would not be the first time something tried to genetically engineer him.]
....Are you sure? That's - drowning doesn't look like it's pleasant.
no subject
[ he shrugs ]
Ah, but I can still contact people here, right? Through the tablet! So it's not so bad, even if--
[ oh. hm. ]
--well, that's just how things are. As long as I can still help the living, then that's fine.
no subject
[He seems like he wants to say something else, but falls silent.]
...Anyway, yeah. Keep talking to them, Escardos. I'm sure they'll need it.
