Dreamland (round 3)
[A strange house of some sort sits in the pitch black nothingness that exists around it. For those just now wandering in, they will be drawn to the building, finding it lit up in a way that it should not be. It's as if the whole area- house, yard, fence, and giant sakura tree- all give off their own light, and the newly-arrived are drawn to it like a moth to the flame.
Inside the boundary of the yard, the familiar faces of those who have passed on already will greet them. Depending on who is asked, they might give an accurate explanation. But even if they don't, one thing is clear: you don't want to leave this place. The area outside feels Dangerous, and it is probably best to stay put.
Fortunately, the house is built in an old style, and there are many rooms to explore. One room on the second floor seems locked, but the rest are open to explore as desired. The standard rooms are easy to find: kitchen, a W.C. and a bathroom, a sitting room of some sort, and a couple bedrooms (with plenty of futons for the dead to use). There are also several tatami mat rooms with nothing in them currently, but it seems like there might be some use for those rooms.
Around the house, perches for birds can be found. No birds are on them currently, though.
Sometimes Watanuki can be found in the house, but most of the time the dead will be left to their own devices. The question is, what will they do here?]

Hm.]

Heal? Help!

One more line to go!]

...
Well, that means this is a little nicer than she was thinking, but unfortunately that also means most of her thoughts on the last line probably don't apply.]
Are they so...
[What fits here? The shorter words were easier to figure out...]
Lenient?

[c'mon, mirror, work with her]

That last crack distorts the image in a new way though, and she can see that the first letter has a bump on the top. So it could be an 'n' or an 'm'.]

Of course.]
My friends.
Success!
The words fade, and in the mirror, Karen can see a reflection. It's not of herself, though. It's of Watanuki, wearing the same clothes he wore during the first week at the mansion. If she has a keen eye, though, she will notice that both of his eyes are blue.
The reflection will move just like her for a moment, matching everything she does. Then, after a couple seconds, the mirror fades to a white light, a light that surrounds Karen entirely.]
It was only an accident.
[Another sight fades in. A normal high school, with students going about their daily activities. Watanuki is there, standing with a girl. The two of them are chatting and smiling, though Karen will not hear any words coming from them. It's like she's watching the scene with the sound muted, except for the strange narration overlaying it all.
Watanuki steps back, leaning on the nearby window to relax for a moment. But the window, it pops out and gives way, and he goes tumbling right out of it. The girl's face changes to shock, then to horror, and then she's screaming as she reaches out for his hand, missing it by mere centimeters.]
I didn't mean to.
[The scene shifts to another, one of Watanuki on the grounds of a temple. It's fall here, and a young man is sweeping leaves off of the sidewalk while Watanuki yells at him about something. But in his yelling and flailing, Watanuki gets stuck in a spider's web on a nearby tree, and the other young man has to destroy the spider web to free him.
But as they both walk away from the spider web, the spider's gaze can be felt on them.]
But I still paid the price.
[Two flashes occur in quick succession. One of bent metal, broken glass, and blood. So much blood.
And then another, of Watanuki wearing an eyepatch over his right eye.]
And wasn't it enough?
[Watanuki is standing in a dining room now. A small girl is standing behind him, looking quite distressed, while her mother throws scalding hot water onto Watanuki.]
And why did they help me?
[Three quick views, all in a row: the young man, sitting against a wall in bloody clothes, looking a bit pale as he rests. The curly-haired girl, crying as she takes down her long pigtails, and combing her hair back to cover the harsh scars that now cross her back in angry gashes. The little girl, now covered in bandages, standing up to her mother for Watanuki's sake.]
Are they...my friends?
[And then, there's one final image. All of them- Watanuki, the young man, the curly-haired girl, and the little girl, as well as Yuuko and a few other people- are sitting on a blanket in the yard of the shop. There is a cake that says 'happy birthday' on it, and everyone seems to be having a good time there. Watanuki himself looks around at all the people there, and then he looks down to the cake as he smiles warmly.
The vision fades away, and Karen is left looking at the mirror once more. Only this time, when she sees Watanuki there, he has one brown eye and one blue eye, like he does now. The reflection doesn't mimic Karen this time, though. Instead it smiles at her, and then it fades away, leaving a normal mirror without any cracks in it.
Karen will also have the feeling that she has done something important, though she won't know exactly what until another time.]
Re: Success!
For now, she looks around. Is there any sign of snakefox around?]
