Dreamland (round 3)
[A strange house of some sort sits in the pitch black nothingness that exists around it. For those just now wandering in, they will be drawn to the building, finding it lit up in a way that it should not be. It's as if the whole area- house, yard, fence, and giant sakura tree- all give off their own light, and the newly-arrived are drawn to it like a moth to the flame.
Inside the boundary of the yard, the familiar faces of those who have passed on already will greet them. Depending on who is asked, they might give an accurate explanation. But even if they don't, one thing is clear: you don't want to leave this place. The area outside feels Dangerous, and it is probably best to stay put.
Fortunately, the house is built in an old style, and there are many rooms to explore. One room on the second floor seems locked, but the rest are open to explore as desired. The standard rooms are easy to find: kitchen, a W.C. and a bathroom, a sitting room of some sort, and a couple bedrooms (with plenty of futons for the dead to use). There are also several tatami mat rooms with nothing in them currently, but it seems like there might be some use for those rooms.
Around the house, perches for birds can be found. No birds are on them currently, though.
Sometimes Watanuki can be found in the house, but most of the time the dead will be left to their own devices. The question is, what will they do here?]

The shop moved somewhere. To a city. While it was there, I wasn't able to get to it. I went and yelled at Watanuki about it in the mansion and we watched what happened through a crystal ball. [it's a bit of a long story, so Shadow sits down on the porch] He said the shop "goes where it's needed", so someone there must have had a wish. Some guy came in -- a human teenager -- calling himself "John Doe". As it turns out... I think he was from the Foundation.

The Foundation? What did he need? And how is it involved?

[Shadow holds his hands palm up, shrugging. He's pretty sure that if you looked at it from a numbers perspective, the Foundation has probably lost fewer personnel sice 6350 came into containment than before]
I'm pretty sure he is of the Foundation's earth, and an SCP himself. He can do magic -- real magic, which is incredibly rare in that world -- but only if it's framed like a stage magic show, or for a prank. He said he wanted to help the offworlders, that how they were going to be executed with naught but a sham of a trial was unfair. But he didn't know how.

[Shadow is also frustrated, but in a much more... offhand way, now. Because it's not going to really be his problem anymore!

He said it would have already begun, but the sudden disappearance of about 20 agents took precedence. Our disappearances.
[Shadow frowns a bit]
In the end, there were three items that they could have given him, representing different ways that he could help. There was a summer camp petoskey bandana filled with chestnuts, some ratty and bloody bandages, and a book of beginner stage magic. In the end, they chose to give him the book -- to give him ideas about thinking out of the box to make his magic more helpful.

I hope they picked wisely. So us disappearing is the only reason this hasn't happened yet.

'John Doe' was able to provide these as payment for his wish. It was Karen's idea, and he "pranked" them by saying, "Wouldn't it be funny if all the missing people were inside this room the whole time"? There are enough gigai here for everyone.

[Now the trick is making sure every soul survives to the end]

[Shadow looks down, conflicted]
... I so wish I could tell the pieces still in play that their loved ones are here, safe. That they will see them again. But if Nirrti knew...

And depending on the living, it might make them more desperate, thinking they have to try harder to protect us here.

Shadow then takes his leave, heading back outside into the yard and beyond the gate, into the darkness]
