Dreamland (round 3)

[A strange house of some sort sits in the pitch black nothingness that exists around it. For those just now wandering in, they will be drawn to the building, finding it lit up in a way that it should not be. It's as if the whole area- house, yard, fence, and giant sakura tree- all give off their own light, and the newly-arrived are drawn to it like a moth to the flame.

Inside the boundary of the yard, the familiar faces of those who have passed on already will greet them. Depending on who is asked, they might give an accurate explanation. But even if they don't, one thing is clear: you don't want to leave this place. The area outside feels Dangerous, and it is probably best to stay put.

Fortunately, the house is built in an old style, and there are many rooms to explore. One room on the second floor seems locked, but the rest are open to explore as desired. The standard rooms are easy to find: kitchen, a W.C. and a bathroom, a sitting room of some sort, and a couple bedrooms (with plenty of futons for the dead to use). There are also several tatami mat rooms with nothing in them currently, but it seems like there might be some use for those rooms.

Around the house, perches for birds can be found. No birds are on them currently, though.

Sometimes Watanuki can be found in the house, but most of the time the dead will be left to their own devices. The question is, what will they do here?

[His expression flickers, a dozen words wanting to come out but stopping. In life, he always believed that a person made their own fate out of what circumstances they found themselves in. It doesn't feel right when someone says something is 'destined', but yet with Moriarty...

"You go ahead, while I end"

... Son of a Bitch. His jaw clenches for a moment before relaxing]

You did come close to subverting the narrative there. As I said before, it is a shame that your Genius is bent towards Evil, but if you insist on it - I will be in your way to stop you, as always.

[He grins at that, nodding - though his gaze is almost closed off, beyond his normal flamboyantness.]

And it's a shame that you must always think of Good! Imagine the destruction the world could see if we -

[He pauses, before slapping himself in the forehead.]

-good god, how hard did you hit me? I'm saying nothing but nonsense!

[There was a faint shiver at the words, as if he was hit by a cold mist of a waterfall, as his eyes glanced to the other man, giving another laugh - though there's a hollowness to it]

As hard as you deserved it, Moriarty.

Ah, I suppose that's right. A hard hit to someone so full of Evil as I is only correct, hahaha!

[He laughs off the tense atmosphere, apparently not noticing Sherlock's change in mood - or, perhaps, simply trying not to bring attention to it.]

Oooh, hmph-

[He sits up - making a noise and stiffening as he puts a hand to his back.]

Agh-! This damned old body...Why do you get to be youthful while I have to look like this, Holmes?!
improbablenotimpossible: (My name is Sherlock Holmes)

I wouldn't be a proper detective if I go easy on you.

[He watches as Moriarty groans, the back "acting" up again]

I hypothesized it's because the only time my age was give - aside from a few stories from my college days - was in A Study in Scarlet, despite the fact most of my career spanned my 30s and 40s.
