Dreamland (round 3)

[A strange house of some sort sits in the pitch black nothingness that exists around it. For those just now wandering in, they will be drawn to the building, finding it lit up in a way that it should not be. It's as if the whole area- house, yard, fence, and giant sakura tree- all give off their own light, and the newly-arrived are drawn to it like a moth to the flame.

Inside the boundary of the yard, the familiar faces of those who have passed on already will greet them. Depending on who is asked, they might give an accurate explanation. But even if they don't, one thing is clear: you don't want to leave this place. The area outside feels Dangerous, and it is probably best to stay put.

Fortunately, the house is built in an old style, and there are many rooms to explore. One room on the second floor seems locked, but the rest are open to explore as desired. The standard rooms are easy to find: kitchen, a W.C. and a bathroom, a sitting room of some sort, and a couple bedrooms (with plenty of futons for the dead to use). There are also several tatami mat rooms with nothing in them currently, but it seems like there might be some use for those rooms.

Around the house, perches for birds can be found. No birds are on them currently, though.

Sometimes Watanuki can be found in the house, but most of the time the dead will be left to their own devices. The question is, what will they do here?]

Mmm, they're both foxes, so it makes sense.

[That's absolutely flippant, yeah, though his expression doesn't match it -- he's watching the trial intently, frowning a little at the whole wish thing.

It's hard to tell how he feels about it, apart from the peanut gallery commentary.]

I was just thinking about what circumstances might have led to her having a wish granted.

I could see her wanting to ally with Kurama and guard him, especially since everyone almost took him out for Akira's murder.

[Which he may have contributed to also, but he ain't bothering to mention that.]

Yes, she was probably sensitive to the idea of being falsely implicated.

[You know, since she was suspect #2 that one time someone did get scapegoated.]

But I was wondering more along the lines of what she did in order to have it granted.

Maybe. Well, it's Watanuki and an eyeball, so she probably didn't have to kill anyone. But wouldn't what Kurama said be enough? She gave up some of her vision.

[It's musing -- he isn't entirely convinced that's all it is either, because with Witches you never know, but throwing it out there anyway.]

Maybe. I was thinking of something complicated, anyway.

[He cocks his head at her, rather like a curious hound.]

If you're going to ask for a wish from Watanuki, you might want to ask soon.

He's probably going to be sleeping a lot more.

[He glances over at Akira -- with how quiet he is, it's easy to forget he's there, but that's not why Anon said that. He would have said it anyway.]

[ He might have been intentionally making that easy to do, given... all of everything he did. ]

I agree with you. I think she wanted to protect him.

[Anon is Anon and none of that really fazes him. Accordingly, there's no way to make him ignore you.]

And if that isn't enough? We might be seeing him soon.

[ There's a quiet sound from his throat, and then a bitter smile. ]

... Heh. And I know just saying 'I don't want to see him like this' won't be enough to stop him from showing up, if that's the case.

[He glances at him, and there's something unreadable in his gaze.]

You should know him best, after all. Just try not to break anything around here if you're going to have an angry reunion or something.

[He still doesn't even know Akira's powers but y'know.]

[ There's a grim kind of smile at that first sentence, but it fades away at the next. ]

... I can't say I wouldn't want to punch him.

[ Narrator: He wasn't able to. ]

If punching him doesn't break the tree or the shop, go for it. It can be pretty satisfying.

[He will always encourage punching it out regardless of narrator bias!]

[ There's actually a look of consideration here??? Anon why

... But, then, he lowers his gaze thoughtfully. After a few seconds, he looks at Anon, expression totally serious. ]

Hey... Wanna fight later?

[He absolutely brightens up at this?? Having a good variety of sparring buddies is like the best thing since sliced bread, especially when you're stuck in a Witch's dream shop.]

I'm always ready to fight.

[You can practically see the metaphorical pink tail wagging.]

[ That... actually gets a small smile from Akira. ]

I'm not- [ smile dimming a tiny bit ] much of a challenge.

[ And there's a brief pause, but there's a firming of his expression as he gives a determined nod. ]

[He just gives him an amused look, both assessing and challenging.]

Most of you aren't yet, even here. But we've got nothing but time now.

Show me what you can do.

[ And that actually gets a tiny grin from Akira. He gives a firm nod. ]
