Dreamland (round 3)
[A strange house of some sort sits in the pitch black nothingness that exists around it. For those just now wandering in, they will be drawn to the building, finding it lit up in a way that it should not be. It's as if the whole area- house, yard, fence, and giant sakura tree- all give off their own light, and the newly-arrived are drawn to it like a moth to the flame.
Inside the boundary of the yard, the familiar faces of those who have passed on already will greet them. Depending on who is asked, they might give an accurate explanation. But even if they don't, one thing is clear: you don't want to leave this place. The area outside feels Dangerous, and it is probably best to stay put.
Fortunately, the house is built in an old style, and there are many rooms to explore. One room on the second floor seems locked, but the rest are open to explore as desired. The standard rooms are easy to find: kitchen, a W.C. and a bathroom, a sitting room of some sort, and a couple bedrooms (with plenty of futons for the dead to use). There are also several tatami mat rooms with nothing in them currently, but it seems like there might be some use for those rooms.
Around the house, perches for birds can be found. No birds are on them currently, though.
Sometimes Watanuki can be found in the house, but most of the time the dead will be left to their own devices. The question is, what will they do here?]

[He can't keep a hint of bitterness out of his voice.]
They'll bully me non-stop, saying I owe her, that she should get to pummel me. She punched me in the face once during the fight, how much more will they do to me before they think we're even? Their trio is back together, and I'm... I'm still....
[He turns his face into the pillow with a choked sob. Apparently he's not as cried out as he thought.]

...you may not be with Sherlock, but you aren't alone. There are still people who care for you here.

[That embrace could've lasted a year and it wouldn't have been enough. It hurts this much, but so many people say it's worth the pain.
For Sherlock, he believes it.]

[Kurama's voice is quiet, musing, and gently sad. His hand rubs Erhard's back soothingly.]
no subject
[His killer is comforting him. Ironic, but he knows Kurama can be as kind as he can be brutal. He may not understand the so-called morals of the other non-humans, but this man he respects. If he had to die, he's glad it was by Kurama's hand.]
She gave me that, and then she was gentle with us when she didn't have to be. I have to believe that means they can save all of us, including her.
no subject
[Including removing Erhard from the board. Neither of them, he thinks, are suited to the task of saving Nirrti from herself.
Perhaps the main tragedy of the thing is that Kurama has always liked Erhard. And unlike the others, Kurama is forgiving of human frailty. As disappointed as he was with Erhard, as much as he lost control of his anger at the sight of Emi's body, a true and lasting grudge against an ill man is not his way.]
no subject
[Shock proliferates through Erhard's features. The implications of what Kurama just said are enormous and startling.]
You planned to be caught and executed, didn't you?
no subject
[Kurama sounds calm, practical. He's even smiling slightly at Erhard's shock.]
You saw me at Akira's trial and when I found you with Emi's corpse. My anger is too explosive, too volatile now. I would just be a liability to the task.
no subject
[Emotion and logic. They truly can work in concert, once a balance is found. Kurama is far better at it than Erhard, but Erhard knows it's because he's an emotional novice.]
no subject
[Kurama tilts his head back, one hand lifting to touch the black flame on his forehead. The sacrifice he made for Watanuki... He doesn't regret that, either.]
