Round 4 AU Workshop
In Round 4, all characters will be veteran Agents. That means they have been Agents for at least 6 months, and up to 2 years. This post can be used for sorting out that AU history.
Arrival at the Foundation
Arrival at the Foundation will generally follow this pattern:
1: Your character won't remember exactly how they were removed from their world. As far as they know, their memories just 'cut off' abruptly at whatever canon point you choose for them. They will have the feeling that there is a gap in there somewhere, but they won't be aware of how long it is or what happened during that time. Their first memory after this gap will always be the same: waking up naked in a cold room with a large, strange machine nearby. Regardless of what they were wearing before, they will now be wearing an orange jumpsuit.
2: Shortly after awakening, they will be taken from the room with the strange machine and brought to what looks like an interrogation room. In there, they will have their intake interview. The interview will vary based on how your character responds to being questioned, but in the end they will either agree to be an agent or end up being subdued and locked away in a cell until they agree to cooperate. Here are some examples of the intake interview: (1), (2), (3).
3: After the intake interview, characters will be taken away for training. This will vary based on what your character already knows, but by the end of it they will be proficient in the following: technology use (on par with 2019, as well as the use of Foundation-specific tech), reading and writing (in English, which all characters are suddenly able to speak), firearm use, containment protocol basics, and testing/training in using their powers. This process could last as little as a couple days (long enough to test out of all the training) to a few months (for people who know none of that and need to learn everything).
4: After their training is done, characters will start being assigned on missions. Characters will generally be assigned to tasks that fit their talents, but you can expect any mission they are sent on as D-class agents to be very dangerous. Casualties will be common.
Rankings
If a character survives being a D-class agent for long enough, they have the potential to become a C-class agent. C-class agents are generally given better assignments (to Safe SCPs with well-known containment protocols), and often are expected to be the 'leader' for groups of D-class agents.
For this round, your character can potentially be a C-class agent if they meet the following qualifications:
1: They have been at the Foundation for longer than 6 months.
2: They have been generally cooperative with the Foundation.
3: They have a particularly useful skill (mundane or otherwise) or a useful power.
If they don't fit those requirements, go with D-class to be on the safe side.
AU personality
Depending on the length of time they have been at the Foundation, a character's personality may be somewhat different from how they are in canon. This is to be expected, given the kind of work the Foundation does. However, characters should still be recognizable as themselves, and all changes in personality need to be explained on your app.
Any AU history or personality changes that are not listed on your app will not be considered canon for this game!
TL;DR -
- Characters will be agents of the Foundation.
- They can be there for anywhere from 'six months' to 'two years'.
- You must write up a summary of their AU history.
- You must also explain how this AU history has affected their personality.
- Time matters! Someone who only did the intake interview will be pretty much the same as they are in canon. Someone who has been with the Foundation for a few months will have Seen Some Shit, and their personality will probably have changed a bit.
As a final note, you must seek permission from other players before you may use their character in your character's AU history! If you want to have your character trained by Atsushi, for example, then you must ask Atsushi's player for permission, and we will seek confirmation from that player. Apps that fail this step will be automatically rejected!
So go ahead and get planning!

Character: AZULA
Canon: Avatar the last airbender
Age: 16. She's spent 2 years at the Foundation
Agent Class: C-class
Backstory: (cw for mental health issues, paranoid delusions)
Note this is all liable to change as I haven't fully settled on Azula's backstory, but tentatively I'm thinking of plucking Azula from the end of a:tla, following her defeat at the Agni Kai with Zuko. She was pulled into the Foundation at a fairly unstable mental state. As such, she was initially categorized as a Keter class SCP due to her dangerous fire and lightning bending abilities and unpredictability secondary to her recurring paranoid delusions about Ursa. She was initially kept in an underground cell at a remote containment site in isolation where she was rehabilitated with regular administration of antipsychotic drugs.
Her rehabilitation was a slow on-going process and she was held in isolation for several months. As she began to regain mental clarity, she bargained with the foundation -- her freedom from the facility in exchange for agreeing to assist on various missions. Despite the foundation's initial belief that Azula was simply a liability that they would use until she died in an unfortunate accident, she is a natural prodigy when it comes to military conquests and battle tactics due to her life long training as Ozai's heir. She has been on many life threatening missions -- the majority of which tend to be assassination type missions due to her precision technique with lightning. She's known for being quick, efficient and causing minimal mess afterwards for the foundation to clean up.
Personality:
In brief: Manipulative af. Azula's shrewd, cunning and veeeeeery sneaky when she has her wits about her. In this AU, she's been knocked down several pegs from her usual arrogance, but if anything it's made her more dangerous as she now feels she has something to prove.
Desired AU CR:
Pretty much whatever sounds interesting? Haha. Sorry this is super vague, but really I'm up for anything, be it hate, grudging respect, maybe three quarters of genuine concern..... all of it.

god, she's actually really awkward at handling mundane social interactions like this and I imagine her response could range between DEMANDING that he show her how worthy he is or you know....actually decide maybe he's wise for recognizing that she is flames cuz y'know you can't have enough asspattings /o\
ofc. if she catches him flirting with literally anyone else he's toast.
So this is a disaster. I'm intrigued.
no subject
he would pat her ass as much as she needs (oh god that sounds wrong) but while he talks a big game he actually hasn't actually... played a big game yet
yeah, feel free to have her have caught him flirting with someone else because he's bound to do it
no subject
She would be secretly so pleased about the asspats, up until the moment she realized this was Connor being Connor and wasn't specific to her, too.

This will last ten seconds. Bickering is likely.

I mean, hello, Azura. God she does not like water-affinity anything thanks to Katara, so this will be a delight. Did you have any thoughts on whether they might have met before or have only tangentially heard of each other because they were given each other's case briefings at one point? lmao[][]
no subject
Either way she's very chill and go-with-the-flow so if they did go on a mission together she's at least very easy to work with lmfao
EDIT: oh yeah and I forgot to mention her (sorta) SCP-given skill is an adaptation of terraforming so she will, at times, have been able to conjure forth assorted different elements, four standard included, from the leylines in the ground..............would this get an adverse reaction at all? 8Da;;

Princess with similar name that people have difficulty with? Strike one. Water powers? Strike two. Weird earth bending abilities on top of that? God it's like someone's trying to piss her off by giving this Other Princess Avatar-ish powers!!
I'd be down for them having this dumb PA relationship where Azula tries to be ""professional"" about completing missions, but if it's not anything life threatening she's actually just kind of a catty little shit that's full of lovely backhanded insults. She definitely doesn't actually do anything that'd compromise the mission overall cuz she's not besmirching her Perfect Record.
But also-- they should defs still begrudingly bond somehow :3

So overall much less inclined to throw around I AM ROYALTY, but she is by no means humble. She's still controlling as hell and expects to be deferred to and considrs herself the leader. It's not very charming at all and butting heads sounds like an inevitability lmao.
no subject
He would appreciate her and her abilities

Did you have any thoughts on these two having met prior to the start of this round?
no subject
Yeah?? Magic and fighty CR?? And honestly waves at my workshop comment for Nora I laughed because they are completely incompatible when it comes to mission objectives (he's basically what you want when you want to hit the problem with a very big hammer, which admittedly the Foundation applies to way too many things because lol SCP). But if you ever want her to serve as containment contingency for doge sometime that might be a good time. Could also just be some mission that needs everything set on fire or something. 8)
And I think I mentioned that he's just v. easy to manipulate so she can have fun with that too. If you tell him not to jump he will jump, that sort of thing. Pfff. Just real easy to boss around if you know how to do it.
no subject
I'm so down for magical / fighty CR Maybe they meet for the first time while she's on containment duty for Nora and there's some mutual stickpoking going on? Haha, she's really good at manipulating people so she will probably pick up on him being super contrary pretty quick.
In a weird way, I think she might do her version of limited empathizing with Nora being contained/immobilized because that was also kept in a straitjacket to keep her from using her hands etc, and feel a twisted kind of kinship -- though I don[t know how far that really extends. She might give him a nickname.... for which I apologize in advance cuz I would not be surprised if it's just "Nono."
no subject
LOL that's fine + maybe literal stickpoking bc he uses a spear most of the time when he's not doge. Which is hopefully a large majority of the time laughs. He'll squint at her a lot because the last manipulative firestarter he met was a real piece of work (think 'reanimating multiple dead to act as meatshields and murdering a good chunk of his own subordinates' style), but if she seems amenable to working together he might GRUDGINGLY get along. In a manner of speaking. Maybe. |Da
I'm laughing he'd be so hissy at nicknames but what can he do about it. Nothing. Just yaps angrily at Azula while trying to set her on fire if they really get into it on a mission--
no subject
And LOOK the nickname is probably affectionate!! She doesn't give those out willy nilly. Sure it's probably half meant to annoy Nora, but maybe there's like 5% endearment in there. Maybe. At the very least, she has some degree of respect for his abilities, even if she really does not like the fact that he might overpower her. All the more reason to bully him a little and joust verbally?
But OKOK, getting down to the wire: to summarize!
- She's been on containment duty for Nora before and has felt some vaaaague kindred spirit feels (thes are definitely non mutual LMAO)
- But they've also been on one/two missions together and she has seen Nora's powers (and he's seen hers) and they have bickered pointlessly / made non serious threats at each other
- Azula has some grudging respect for Nora, though she pushes him around because she likes to remind him who's boss
- Nora has a nickname. It is most definitely "No-no."

I'm game for them having been on a mission, or two, together! Maybe they haven't had a chance to properly talk just yet, but Goro would absolutely enjoy how scary she is.
If they've been on missions that involved fighting anything together, she'd get to see that he can be ruthless against enemies, where applicable. /o/ And he has fire skills + buffing/healing powers, so at least there's no chance of him being deadweight.
And very manipulative and sneaky and feeling he has a lot to prove, too, so... same hat potential.
no subject
I like the idea of them having been on one or two missions involving combat together for sure. If Akechi really does just seem cool with her being... her and low key threatening for no reason AND turns out to be kind of a helpful ally, she'd probably be inclined to think favorably of him! Really like the idea of them getting their first real opportunity to talk at this current house assignment, too.
She'll see Akechi and think OH GOOD someone sensible, haha
no subject
i feel like this CR would be a mess ahahaha. Sandalphon could probably manage some respect for her abilities if he's seen Azula in action enough but he wouldn't really care for her attitude unless she was really polite with him or something laughs. considering how she's used to ordering people around though and him being a bit of a wildcard when it comes to obeying, i imagine he'd probably be frustrating to deal with (especially since he wouldn't be contrite about any of it at all)!!
so what i'm saying is: i'm totally here for negative cr or anything else
no subject
Negative CR sounds delicious. Maybe they went on a mission together and it started off really badly due to clashing personalities and bickering, but then the mission escalated in danger and they both had to shut up and cooperate to kill the dangerous thing. That way, they both have grudging respect for each other's abilities, even if they don't... get along. At all.
I imagine their relationship is definitely one filled with lots of /EYEROLL and /deadeyes and probable bickering over who is the bigger shitchild.
no subject
ouo! that sounds good to me! i'm always up for reluctant teamwork and cooperation...!
just a constant stream of PA behaviour at each other, nothing to see here folks
