Round 4 AU Workshop

In Round 4, all characters will be veteran Agents. That means they have been Agents for at least 6 months, and up to 2 years. This post can be used for sorting out that AU history.

Arrival at the Foundation

Arrival at the Foundation will generally follow this pattern:

1: Your character won't remember exactly how they were removed from their world. As far as they know, their memories just 'cut off' abruptly at whatever canon point you choose for them. They will have the feeling that there is a gap in there somewhere, but they won't be aware of how long it is or what happened during that time. Their first memory after this gap will always be the same: waking up naked in a cold room with a large, strange machine nearby. Regardless of what they were wearing before, they will now be wearing an orange jumpsuit.

2: Shortly after awakening, they will be taken from the room with the strange machine and brought to what looks like an interrogation room. In there, they will have their intake interview. The interview will vary based on how your character responds to being questioned, but in the end they will either agree to be an agent or end up being subdued and locked away in a cell until they agree to cooperate. Here are some examples of the intake interview: (1), (2), (3).

3: After the intake interview, characters will be taken away for training. This will vary based on what your character already knows, but by the end of it they will be proficient in the following: technology use (on par with 2019, as well as the use of Foundation-specific tech), reading and writing (in English, which all characters are suddenly able to speak), firearm use, containment protocol basics, and testing/training in using their powers. This process could last as little as a couple days (long enough to test out of all the training) to a few months (for people who know none of that and need to learn everything).

4: After their training is done, characters will start being assigned on missions. Characters will generally be assigned to tasks that fit their talents, but you can expect any mission they are sent on as D-class agents to be very dangerous. Casualties will be common.

Rankings

If a character survives being a D-class agent for long enough, they have the potential to become a C-class agent. C-class agents are generally given better assignments (to Safe SCPs with well-known containment protocols), and often are expected to be the 'leader' for groups of D-class agents.

For this round, your character can potentially be a C-class agent if they meet the following qualifications:

1: They have been at the Foundation for longer than 6 months.

2: They have been generally cooperative with the Foundation.

3: They have a particularly useful skill (mundane or otherwise) or a useful power.

If they don't fit those requirements, go with D-class to be on the safe side.

AU personality

Depending on the length of time they have been at the Foundation, a character's personality may be somewhat different from how they are in canon. This is to be expected, given the kind of work the Foundation does. However, characters should still be recognizable as themselves, and all changes in personality need to be explained on your app.

Any AU history or personality changes that are not listed on your app will not be considered canon for this game!

TL;DR -

- Characters will be agents of the Foundation.
- They can be there for anywhere from 'six months' to 'two years'.
- You must write up a summary of their AU history.
- You must also explain how this AU history has affected their personality.
- Time matters! Someone who only did the intake interview will be pretty much the same as they are in canon. Someone who has been with the Foundation for a few months will have Seen Some Shit, and their personality will probably have changed a bit.

As a final note, you must seek permission from other players before you may use their character in your character's AU history! If you want to have your character trained by Atsushi, for example, then you must ask Atsushi's player for permission, and we will seek confirmation from that player. Apps that fail this step will be automatically rejected!

Hey everyone! This is Fishy (aka your Reangumo player from R2) here with someone completely(??) different for R4!

Character: Sandalphon (also known as Sandy, Sandals, sad/angry coffee angel, etc.)
Canon: Granblue Fantasy
Age: 2000+
Time in Foundation: 6 months
Agent Rank: as if he would give enough fucks to promote above D-Class

AU Background:

Was uncooperative and difficult during their intake interview, leading to him getting locked away/subdued at least once before finally agreeing to work with the Foundation (some form of manipulation was probably involved though). Needless to say, the experience didn't warm Sandy up to the Foundation and the feeling was pretty much mutual!
Was p much impatient and tetchy throughout all of his training although he managed to pick things up at a reasonable pace ~~because fuck if i know what language they speak in gbf tbh~~. He absolutely gave his firearms trainer a dead-eyed stare at least once though
In general, he's sent out on the front lines because most of his abilities lean towards combat and he has no patience for doing paperwork. Incidentally, he's also probably one of those guys that people chase down for reports after a mission because hahaha what is submitting anything
He's cooperative in the barest sense of the word: he more or less does whatever missions he's given (reports aside), but his irritable nature combined with instances of overconfidence and disobeying orders means he's basically stuck at D-class for life
He spends most of his free time ~~moping about~~ in his room (which is probably full of coffee plants, lbr), so it's unlikely to really see him out and about most of the day. With that said, he's most consistently found during mealtimes and that's 100% because he's there to just make his own damn coffee in the cafeteria kitchen; he's also at his most amiable there and generally willing to make a cup for someone unless he outright hates them. He's pretty skilled at what he does and surprisingly good at remembering what people have asked for though
He was actually pretty okay being transferred to the California site because maybe!!! he can finally grow his coffee trees outside

Character Personality:

Imagine speaking with a moody teenager who's like you'll never understanddddddd and that's more or less what it's like to interact with Sandalphon. Curt, abrasive and aloof with moments of snideness, he seems to try his best to keep some distance from others, preferring to keep his conversations focused on business rather than indulging people with small talk. Despite his caustic personality, he won't go out of his way to pick fights with people since he's more content to stay in his own little corner and sulk.
He wears his disdain for the Foundation openly on his sleeve but he still seems to be sticking around and helping anyways.
For those that he finds tolerable, it can be surprisingly easy to beg/pester him for favours (within limits)
He's actually a decent team player on the field, attitude aside. He's not the type who would just abandon people he's working with, so he would try his best to get everyone out alive, even if he may grumble about it afterwards. He does have his haughty moments though, which leads to some reckless behaviour because he can solo this shit no problem!!! ...except when he can't

Miscellaneous Points:

He's an archangel, which actually means something pretty different in gbf lore but a lot of the stereotypes still apply (has wings, light-based powers, etc.). While he's not particularly shy about what he is, neither will he shout it out from the rooftops either, but feel free to have your character pick up on it anyways just because of his powerset and sometimes referring to people as mortals or what have you. (Or you know, if they ever hear his name.)
if there are any coffee-related SCPs, he's not allowed to touch them.
you will never see him wearing footwear that has less than 2 inches of heel
he almost never addresses people by their actual fucking names and in fact seems to think that descriptive phrases work well enough (e.g. girl in blue, crimson dragon, etc.). feel free to suggest shit that he could potentially call your character!!

Desired CR:
slams fists on table give me anything!!! It's probably more likely that he'll run into people while working on a mission together but also pestering him for coffee or mistaking him for a cafeteria worker or something is also fun. It's unlikely he'll get super close to people as he is atm but he would definitely find some people more tolerable than others. His personality being what it is also means I would love negative CR for him too because he can be pretty passive aggressive and petty laughs

I've already established for others that Saki's probably trying to get along with folks by being conscientious and making sure the coffee in the machine is... about as fresh as it can be, so he's free to judge her for that since she's definitely more of a tea person and coffee machines are ???

honestly though, he's conscientious enough to realize not everyone is a coffee addict like him so he actually wouldn't be too bothered by anything less-than-stellar and he'll just probably drink it anyways (but not without critique). he'll insist on taking over the coffee machine if he figures out she's the one responsible though.

let him teach you how to make real coffee, saki!! ...except he wouldn't actually have the patience to teach, but he won't shoo her away if she wants to watch either

but somewhere in his heart of hearts, he appreciates her efforts. probably.

Saki is trying her best!! And she'd probably get a little defensive about the critique, huffs.

-On the other hand, she does know people who like coffee, so she might still begrudgingly watch him make it in case she can pick up some tips for them.

then get better so he won't have anything to complain about!! saki doesn't deserve this level of shit though lbr

he totally goes all the way when making coffee though, like grinding beans by hand and going through the drip-feed process so it's educational?? maybe... he would be noticeably calmer when doing all of this though, so he wouldn't be adverse to answering any questions if she had any (and then just handing a cup to her anyways because try it and taste the difference, gosh!!!)

When she tries it she's so mad that it actually tastes way better. Ugh. Ugh!!! Why is this brat so good at this!!!

There is probably at least one time when she tries to make it the way he did but refused to ask any questions so it's still..... not great......... but after that she'd probably put aside her pride to ask properly.

he's glad that she likes it ☆ (and he will probably have that small insufferable smirk the whole time lbr)

saki tries hard... coffee senpai is here to help though!! (not really but he'll be satisfied enough that someone's taking an interest anyways) he is here for more people appreciating good coffee and not whatever swill they serve in the cafeteria!!

OK also this CR is going to be an absolute disaster this demon vs. angel theme is very apt because like. LMFAO Nora is very bad with aloof people because he's also a moody teenager but yeeted way the fuck in the other direction where it basically all gets taken out on everyone else and he's just fucking loud about it. Granted at his canonpoint he's slightly more even-keeled but it's very. It's very relative. I'm sorry Sandy you might just get him snapping and yapping at you a lot.

Also he hates coffee.

And if he doesn't like him he is absolutely going to pick fights. Over coffee. Why is he like this. /o\

God they're going to get stuck together at least a few times on the front lines, though, and Sandalphon will probably get to meet Cerberus AKA hellhound of disaster, smh. Basically there's usually at least one person along on missions with Cerberus to contain/eliminate him in case he goes berserk bc that's a thing that probably happened at least once or twice at SCP and it's just. A bad time for all involved. LMK if you want him in this role laughs. Otherwise yeah you basically have two hissy reckless people on the battlefield probably.......

ouo i'm totally up for them getting stuck together on missions together! let him see the doggo and i'm okay with him being on elimination duty every now and then! he does have a nuke option that he would conserve for particularly bad situations so he would probably be capable of it (plus his other passive abilities like regeneration and shit) but it would also just boil down to attacking Cerberus until he's down/knocked out ahaha. if that works for you, then i'm up for it \o/

but otherwise i also think it'd be funny if they were surprisingly effective together in a fight if only because they try to outdo each other in missions laughs. competing with mook kill counts because they are the most mature, clearly (and then maybe sometimes getting into fights with each other because friendly fire or some shit)

Oh, absolutely, it's a day in the life/Tuesday when Nora completely forgets what he was arguing about because he was so focused on being right he forgot to keep track of the actual conversation. It's stupid. He's very bad at this. And honestly Sandy is free to physically yeet him or something because he is very much the type to follow around and argue smh.......

Heheh yeah knocking out Cerberus is fine with me tbh, it's a relatively rare occurrence for the doge to go completely berserk but when it happens it's a mess. Overall it can be a combination of either 1. Waiting it out/weakening/delaying until Nora reseals himself to human OR 2. Just straight up overpowering the dog and I think Sandy is probably capable of 2 either way. :)

And I mean yeah omg competitions while you're supposed to be clearing a mission and friendly fire is absolutely Nora's brand we can do this stupid thing (it might even be done more than once given /waves at everything about this CR already LOL). Like, they've probably done the whole -- STOP INTERRUPTING US WHILE WE'RE FIGHTING /EXECUTES A PERFECTLY SYNCHRONIZED SMACKDOWN thing. /o/

I will honestly be surprised if the house isn't levelled by the end of this round (but hey at least the scp will be contained forever!!! ...maybe)

tbh Sandy's more likely to just try and fly the fuck away because he's had enough!!! leave him be!!! so what i mean is that their stupidity will probably continue in the yard with Sandy on the roof or something. or with him trying to retreat to his room and trying to keep Nora out as he slams the door.

Maybe the house can regenerate, you never know. Nora is extremely stupid and bullheaded so he would end up yelling at/climbing on the roof or just yelling at the door for like an hour. Yup having to contain Cerberus is relatively rare just because it takes exceptional circumstances to actually send it berserk since Nora himself is kind of cautious/freaked out about it but his contract means that it's basically up to the Foundation how Cerberus is used and like, lol. Nice containment everyone, bang-up job. Nora would basically just blame his shitty Foundation master probably and refuse to talk about the details while trying very badly to change the subject. /laughs We can hash out minor details over discord at some point if you want!!

The job is so done it's actually been burnt to a crisp. \o/
