Round 4 graveyard

[When your character dies, however that may be, they will feel themselves floating. For a moment or two they will linger at the site of their death, hovering just above everyone, watching.

Then they will feel a pull and they will get tugged all the way to the studio, through a wall, through the hall, through a door.

The place they end up in looks to be a backstage area. There is an area for storing supplies, a coat rack full of empty prinny costumes, a lounge area, and a place to rest. All of these areas are marked by a green border between the described rooms and the doors that go elsewhere. You will see prinnies come and go, hurrying around as they do their work for the day. But within those borders, some of the prinnies will take off their suits, revealing the human souls within. Men, women, old, young, there is a large mix. They are all very dead, though, and seem used to being dead.

And among all of the dead is one living girl, one who seems to be running the show behind the set. She can be found giving instructions to prinnies and telling them where to put things, but she will always take time to give everyone who arrives the same warning:]

Hi there! I'm Marona, and this is the backstage area. There's a lot to do yet, so if you could help us out I would really appreciate it.

All the areas with the green on the floor are safe to be in as ghosts. Your souls won't get pulled away as long as you stay in the safe areas. If you want to go outside of there, though, you have to put on a prinny suit. And if you do that, you have to follow the rules of the prinnies: no killing anyone, follow the orders you're given by the living, and try not to blow up too much.

If you have any questions, I'll be here! But you can come and go as you like. Just don't give Mr. Dazai too much trouble, okay?

[ Well this happened. Alcor could tell right away that Silver was far from pleased with him, but huh he kinda underestimated how much. And ultimately that's fine, it's far from the first time he's played the villain (or been the actual villain). He might have just thought about it for a while, but that ends as soon as another prinny lands on top of him. ]

...Sandalphon?! [ He does not shout but this is the closest he'll ever get to it. ]

[What a soft landing?! He attributes most of it to the suit at first, although he quickly realizes what (or rather, who) exactly he landed on. He'll at least roll off Alcor because this is awkward, even if they are separated by prinny suits.]

A-Alcor. Are you all right?

I am fine. [ He's going to stay here on the ground though, at least momentarily. This is both confusing and awkward even for a box... ]

How are you? And how did you get here?

[merirut]

[He stands up and brushes off some specks of dirt on his suit before responding.]

Unharmed, save for my dignity. And I was tossed here by that hedgehog.

[Even in squeaky prinny voices, the disdain in his voice is palpable.]

Wednesday Game Reactions/Thoughts

[ ... Leo would have been enough to shake him, but. Well. Is it any surprise that Goro is leaving the game and headed for the backstage area, the second Akira dies?

He's ripping that prinny suit off and just screaming.

Soooo... if anyone followed him closely enough, they'll get to hear that.

Otherwise?

He can be found slamming his fist into a wall, angry tears pouring down his face.

Later on, possibly once the game has ended, he can be found just kind of leaning heavily against the wall. He looks so tired... ]

[overconfidant]

[A red-gloved hand gently slides in the way, between Goro's fist and the wall. Akira's other hand settles on his back, soft and...hesitant in a way it had never been before. But even after Goro saying he wouldn't leave his side, that he still loved him...

Well. It doesn't mean his confidence wasn't shaken.

But hearing that scream fucking rends his heart, and he can't just watch Goro cry and beat on the wall. Akira loves him too much to let something as petty as self-doubt keep him away.]

Honey, stop.

[arraignments]

[ He is absolutely whipping around to yank Akira into a hug, pulling him close. He might be shaking... but there's no hesitation to cling to his boyfriend. ]

... I'm sorry...

[ Fuck, when will he stop seeing it happen!? With Atsushi, it had been... heh. Excruciating, too, and it took way too long to stop hearing those shots - no, that's a lie; he... still sees it, sometimes. So, now, he's just... seeing a body go rigid, over and over, on top of everything else.

When... will he stop hearing the agonizing screams of people he cares about...?

When will he stop seeing them die...? ]

[Atsushi sees Goro run in, and he's hot on his heels, because between Leo and Akira... it's too much for him, too.

He wraps his arms around him tightly as soon as they're out of their prinny suits, trembling a little while Goro screams.

It was too much. Just having to stand and watch, not react-- it was too much.]

[arraignments]

[ It's thanks to Atsushi holding him, honestly, that he pulls it together... at all.

There's a thick swallow before he turns to pull Atsushi closer, shaking a bit. ]

When will it- fucking end!? I just want it to stop!!

[ Sorry that he's practically screaming that, Atsushi... He starts to pull away, when it dawns on him. ]

I'm... sorry. I'm just... ...so goddamn tired...

[Watching Silver and Giriko freaking out... that's the other price he has to pay for the deal he made, isn't it? Seeing his best friend sobbing over his body gives Leo the regrettable opportunity to discover that the dead can indeed cry, at least in this reality. He spared Silver from one kind of pain, but it's just dropped the poor hedgehog into a whole other kind of hell.

I'm sorry.... is all he has time to think before his soul is yanked away.

The afterlife is less of a surprise now, since they figured out what was up with the prinnies. Leo knows it's their job to work, but he needs a moment. Marona should understand, right? She seems like a sweet kid. She'll forgive him for sitting in a corner against the wall, drawing his knees up to his chest, hugging his legs, and getting in another good-- though quieter-- sobbing session.]

[ Alcor is good at waiting, patience and all that right? He's not going to bother Leo during his grieving session, but he will swing back later when he's slightly more put together. He's probably hanging out atop some still present mounds of rubble. ]

Hello, Leonardo Watch.

[eldritcheyes]

[And here's a white-haired kick in the ass. Leo instantly goes tense when he hears that voice, but it doesn't last. Quickly enough he's slumping a bit, muttering under his breath.]

Fuck my afterlife... Do you need something, Alcor?

[Another two, huh... While adding more dead to their ranks means they have more manpower to explore and pass on information, it's also a reminder of how little they've accomplished when it comes to stopping this game. He's no stranger to feeling helpless, but it certainly doesn't help his mounting irritation with the Foundation and this entire situation.

So he won't approach Leo while he's crying because he's 100% aware that he's not the right person to deal with tears and distress, but he'll come by when the sobs have subsided somewhat.]

...What was that?

[At least Sandy's not Alcor, even if the two of them are close friends. Sandy might understand Leo's reasons. So he sighs and uncurls a little, rubbing his face tiredly.]

You mean the way the electricity jumped from Silver's space to mine? Probably another bit of "Dazai's" magic. If you mean why it happened... it's because I asked him to.

[ Oh...

Goro's expression falters at the sight. It's after a thick swallow, he walks over to simply... sit next to Leo. He won't press, but he will eventually let his shoulder rest against the other young man's.

He's here... ]

[eldritcheyes]

[Leo eventually lifts his head. Yeah, he's been ugly crying for a while and it shows. He sniffles and rubs his face with the back of his arm.]

H-- hey, Goro....

[His voice cracks but he holds it together for the most part.]

[After his most immediate emotional reunion stuff, well, Akira is just finding somewhere to lay down. He's... really tired. That had been an incredibly painful way to die.

He hasn't even bothered to take the ears off. Or find some pants. So yeah he's just sprawled in his chosen spot in the full red and black kitty maid. Fite him.

Or maybe don't, as previously noted, he's tired.]

[ Alas, finding pants might be impossible, given... corporeal being status.

Goro does come over to him, just to... lie down next to him. ]

[It's hard being ghosts.

After a moment of hesitation and wondering if it'd be welcome, Atsushi settles down near them, not quite flopping on them but... close enough.

He's tired, too.]

PRINNY TRAIN

[So yeah, the dead can totally follow MC as prinnies if they want to. He's just walking back towards the parking lot right now, where a jeep is waiting for him.]

[Atsushi slips himself into a prinny suit to follow him, too concerned about Dazai to pause long enough to do much more than wave frantically to the group with 'get some drinks and snacks!' before he's taptaping out, trying to slow the man down as best as he can on peg legs.]

Dood, wait! Don't just leave like that, you're going to make us poor hosts Dood.

[ Being dead has honed Alcor's ability to make tea in a flash because apparently this is what the afterlife is about? Or something. So he's only a minute or so behind Atsushi with some green tea (it's ceremonial matcha may as well pull out the nice stuff for Mr. Mysterious over here). ]

Despite how busy we have been with studio repairs, it's important not to forget basic hospitality etiquette dood. [ Want some matcha MC? Also Alcor is flying because he can't roll with tea. ]

[MC stops when he hears the two prinnies, and he turns to look at them. He seems to be considering them closely, or maybe even staring right into their souls.

But after a moment of that he smiles a genuine not-scary smile and crouches down to be on their level.]

I suppose I would be a bad guest if I didn't give you all a chance to make me tea, huh?
