[On the instant of your death, you're suddenly outside of your body - probably staring down at the remains it's become.

Yet, you're not alone. For all of you (except Szayel), a young man appears from behind you, his face set into a firm, yet sad, scowl. His shaggy strawberry blonde hair is pretty eye-catching, along with the black and white Shihakusho he wears and the large sword on his back, even as he gently tries to lead you back into the lobby and away from what was once your body. You can still clearly hear and see the living, if you want to try - but they can't see or hear you.

'Welcome to the world of the dead in this Resort,' he says, quietly. 'Looks like you're stuck here with the rest of us.'

He hands you a tablet, just like the one you had before. "You'll need this if you want to keep talking to them,' he explains, looking sad.

It looks like you've passed on, and yet...You still feel like you have a role to play in all of this.]

[ flat is going to be in the restaurant after the meeting, his head resting directly on one of the tables, with his arms splayed to the sides. maybe some would say that this is his way of sleeping, but...would a sleeping person sigh as dramatically as he does? what else is he doing? nothing. he's just laying down and sighing dramatically every once in a while because he's Upset ]

Medic hasn't had the chance to check in on Ripley yet- he wants to give her a couple hours of peace, first. In the meantime, Flat is definitely one of the people Medic wants to see. He flops down in the chair across from him with a sigh.]

after the meeting Inaba is going to not want to talk to anyone at first but after a while she does appear once again in the lobby and stands on the table: ]

Hey, guys! Listen up, this is important!

I got some information for you guys and while it's not relevant to the whole situation as a whole, I thought you guys would want to know all of this, because this might be bad news for a bunch of us. I visited Atsushi after the meeting and I learned a few things.

One: Atsushi isn't the Cleaner anymore. They took the role away from him since he was told they don't need it anymore.
Two: Remember when we were told that they had some sort of motivation for them to play that role? Yeah, well, apparently they took Atsushi's collar that keeps him under control, and without it-- [ Inaba frowns, looking tense, arms folded over her chest. ] He might transform and lose control at any moment.

Which means that even though that this is supposedly "peace week"? Someone could possibly get hurt, or even die, and I'd like to prevent that as much as possible. I don't know if he would share this information with any of the other living and I don't want to share this with the other living without others figuring out Atsushi's former role, so. If anybody has any ideas here, you're welcome to it.

Good morning. I know the Lady has given us a "week off", but this is no time to rest on our laurels. The next act of this tragedy will begin before we know it. I have something very important to share, and you may consider it an order; under no circumstances are the dead to enter the vents. The staff are able to see us and interact with us, therefore it is logical that the immune system can as well. If you die in soul form, there's no bringing you back. If you don't believe me, Mr. Kurosaki can assure you. Please keep that in mind before you do something reckless.

Now, if there aren't any questions, you are dismissed.

THURSDAY MORNING DEBRIEF

[once again, Szayel calls a meeting of the dead in the lobby on Thursday morning. Those that saw him yesterday may have noticed he was a bit more disheveled than usual, but today he looks stupid tired, with bags under his eyes and not-so-perfect hair.

He still speaks with an air of authority]

Attention, dead. It seems Miss Troit and Miss Zaizen were able to obtain some crucial information yesterday by speaking with the "Blue Fuzzy" guest. Who has a name but it is difficult to say. [ahem] It seems that we are indeed located in the stomach of the resort. But what the Resort feeds on is not souls, or flesh, or memories -- it feeds upon positive emotion. Hence its desire to keep us all satisfied and happy. To that end ... urgh... I suppose you can all continue your canoodling, as long as it does not interfere with the mission. When one is sick, one must get proper nutrition, after all, so let's keep our fine host healthy while we work.

In addition, it seems the uh... [he squints at his notes] the rats? Are another hive-minded organism that is married to the Resort so. Take that. How you will. No accounting for taste, I suppose. That will be all for this morning.

Kurosaki. Please meet me back at my room.

Oh, I intended to keep "canoodling" whether it was actually useful or not, thank you. ... Though this makes me wonder if the mistletoe everywhere was a ploy by the resort to amplify the "positive emotions". Hm!

If I may make an addition; I was able to have a very nice conversation with the raccoon- he goes by "Spice Block". Apparently, the moose is his boss, and they're here to watch over us, though he wasn't able to elaborate why for confidentiality reasons. He found it incredibly difficult to arrive here, hence why he was so late when his boss arrived on time.

And Bennings is definitely dead.

It happened so quickly that he didn't even realize what was going on until it was way too late for him. Getting gored to death by what was apparently a cell, turning into a ghost and seeing his own body, then getting rescued and yeeted the fuck out of the vents. It's just. A lot.

He's just standing around awkwardly, watching the aftermath with the living. It feels incredibly weird to actually hear people talk about you after you die.]

....I really fucked up big time.

[Medic relinquishes his Death Grip on Phil and Ripley's hands. The rest of the vent party are still inside the vents, but he can check on them later, what matters is that Bennings is dead and he shouldn't be and Medic knew this would probably happen but that doesn't make it better-

It's been so goddamn long since death actually had any sense of permanence for him and Medic doesn't like the feeling. Sure, they're supposed to be able to get bodies again later- and Medic really needs to research that, himself, he doesn't trust any doctor but himself with his body- but if something goes wrong there, then that's it. No respawning afterwards; he can't even get a hold of Bennings' body to try to Frankenstein's monster it back to life. The lives of others should be in his hands, damnit, not some higher power.

Anyway-]

Bennings... Why are you dead??? I didn't even get to kiss you yet and you go and get yourself killed?
